Welcome to part 4 of Heart of Friendship crochet a-long.
In this next 2 weeks you will be making square 3, Heart of Life.
A simple square to represent our friends being the heart of our lives.
♥ You will need to make 4 squares.
♥ These hints and tips are not the pattern, they are exactly what they say they are, hints and tips to help you, as you make this Afghan/Blanket.
♥ If you would like to join us, please go to the Intro post for links to purchase the pattern and information on yarn requirements.
♥ Blocking your squares, once completed, will give a fabulous finish to them, and make joining much easier, Blocking Your Work.
♥ I always find making all four squares at the same time easier. Round 1 for all the squares then round 2 on all of them etc.
♥ Please note you must not close the magic ring after the 1st round, you will need to work into the centre in round 6, and only then are you instructed to close the centre ring.
♥ This is a very sweet and simple square, but remember in round 6 to work into the BACK LOOPS when instructed to do so, this will define the tops of your hearts.
♥ Remember when working your fans in rounds 11 and 15, you will work a ch-2, which is not counted as a stitch, and is only to raise you up to the correct height, then you will work 3 dc in that same st that has the sl-st in it.
The rest is very straight forward, have fun 🙂
Many thanks to the Pippin Crochet Group on Facebook for hosting this cal.
We would love to see photos of your progress, please feel free to share in the Pippin group or in my own group Helen’s Hookaholics.
See you in two weeks for the final part of Heart of Friendship.
