Introducing Heart of Friendship CAL

Heart of Friendship Crochet A-Long

You can find the main post, with all the story behind it HERE

"If you're alone, I'll be your shadow.
If you want to cry, I'll be your shoulder.
If you want a hug, I'll be your pillow.
If you need to be happy, I'll be your smile..
But anytime you need a friend, I'll just be me."

♥ What will you need?

You may use any yarn and hook size that you like to work with.

For both of my blankets, I used 6 colours, you may use as many or as few colours as you like.
The colour per round lists are numbered colour 1 to colour 6, all you need do is number your colours and follow the list.

There is a yarn pack available, but only the Pinks one, you can purchase this at Loremar.
This is Stylecraft Special Double Knitting yarn, 100% premium acrylic.

Here are some colour ideas.

  1. Thank you for the wonderful design. I made it in autumn tones for a friends who are retiring and heading off around Australia in their caravan. They love it also!

  2. What a beautiful and stunning afghan! I couldn’t pass this one up and have it printing out as I speak. This will be a beautiful addition to our home when we complete our move to Ecuador. Thank you for such a wonderful pattern, for sharing your time, your talent and your creativity. God bless you.

  3. Like all your patterns, this is just beautiful. I don’t always express my thanks for all the great patterns you design and share with us, but I love and appreciate them all. I follow your crochet and your quilting and as usual, I am starting late, but I can always catch up. Thank you for all the beauty you share, and for sharing your special talent.

  4. Hi Helen – I am in the process of trying to organize my colors for this CAL and I have decided to use the colors your friend Kay used. Following your A-F and your “colors per round” I have organized as follows A)Cream B)Storm Blue C)Parchment D)Denim E)Silver F)Petrol. However, I think the blues may be too close and not give enough contrasts. Any thoughts? Thanks so much. So looking forward to this pattern. Will be a challenge for me and that should be exciting!

The 3 blues work really well together as they all have the same muted tone, use your own preference for placement. With each round, make a few stitches, and you will soon get the feel for the placement you prefer.
      Have fun 🙂

  5. I love the colors you did on Raverly in the Grays shades. Can you please tell me all those colors are please, I would be making this for a male.

    • Helen Helen

I made one with pink and grey, and the other with purples, not sure which one you mean, but you can use any colours you like. The colours I used are included in the intro post 🙂
