At the beginning of the year I said I was going to design a 12 inch square each month, my idea being to have 12 new squares by the end of the year.

So far you have gobbled up Berry Pie, been Star Crossed, gone Spinning Around a Ring ‘o’ Roses….

All done With Love and Desire, and you’ve met Rosetta.

You can find all of these in my store, some are paid patterns and some are free.

So that’s 7 new 12 inch squares this year without the ones in Dream Weaver!

Hehehe 🙂

Looks like I am getting ahead of myself…but there is a reason, that I will let you all in on, in just a couple of weeks.

So back to the new additions….

Whenever I am designing, names just pop into my head, I then go and look up the meaning of the name to get a feel of the finished look, and the energy behind the design.

Chantelle

The meaning of the name Chantelle is to sing, to express yourself joyously and creatively.

Chantelle is a fairly simple square with clusters in the centre and fans of picot trebles around a square.

A light and airy vibe, this versatile square can be used as a 6 inch square if you stop at round 6, or a 12 inch square, as shown below.

If you haven’t already checked it out, take a look at my tutorial Perfect Picots, it takes the fiddle out of them, and gives you perfect picots every time.

These are some of the gorgeous squares made by my testers, as you can see the effect changes so much with different colours.

Grace

Simple elegance, effortless beauty and charm.

Grace is another fairly simple square worked with mainly double crochet stitches, but with the addition of puff stitches.

Grace works perfectly as a complementary square to other more complex designs, and looks great in one colour or a riot of colour.

Here are some more Grace’s made by my amazing testers.
