Rose of Avalon

Rose of Avalon has had a glow-up!

Although the design stays essentially the same there are a few adjustments to stitch counts and heights for each of the squares.

The video tutorials DO NOT match to the older version of this pattern, as already mentioned the stitch counts differ as do the height of some of the stitches.

If you have purchased this pattern prior to 18th September 2023, your pdf downloads will still be working as normal for the older version.

The myth and legend of King Arthur and the Isle of Avalon is something that has always fascinated me.

Avalon is said to be the final resting place of King Arthur, a mystical island, in the middle of a lake.

The squares in this design are named after the ladies of King Arthur’s court.

The Lady of the Lake, is said to have been the keeper of Excalibur, King Arthur’s
legendary sword.

Igraine was Arthur’s mother, Morgana was Arthur’s half sister, and also said to have been a Fairy Queen, or a Sorceress, depending on which story you like to believe.

Isolde was the lover of Tristan, one of the knights of the round table.

I hope you get swept away in magical moments as you make this beautiful throw.

The original design was created in 2016 for Deramores who are no longer trading.
This is the main reason for rewriting the pattern and creating new yarn packs, as well as creating video tutorials for those of you who are more visual.

The pattern is designed as a throw, but if you wish to make it larger you can of course do that.

Here is a layout guide with an easy-to-calculate guide for the amount of each colour you will need for each of the squares. This is only a guide and you can change it in any way to suit the layout you want to create.

Please note the colour per round is given in the pattern, at the beginning of each round, with the colours being numbered 1 to 6.

I suggest you make all of your squares and gently block them to make joining easier.
Also, make sure all of your squares are facing right side up as you join.

Both the pdf and video tutorials take you through the joining process.
