This week I would like you to join me in honouring some amazing men, who helped to shape the person I am today.

Their love, respect and humour, along with their “down to earth” way of living, and being, taught me a love for nature, fun, and a respect for the skills and qualities I have developed over the years.

They are  Bill or “Billy” my Father, who was the centre of my world, until he passed, when I was only 24, he was 54.

He always encouraged me to do what I loved, and to have fun doing it.

Archie was my Grandfather (dad’s dad), a quiet, humble man who loved his garden, but always found time to have fun with his family.

Alfie was my Mother’s Father, a strong man, a hard worker, and a wonderful story teller. I remember hours of magical fun, listening to his stories, and crocheting with my Nana.

If you haven’t read the introduction post, then please find it here. You will find all the information on Yarn Packs, how much yarn you will need, hook sizes, the finished size of your blanket and all the resources available.

Our Billy square is a star, a guiding light, shining brightly, a reminder to always have fun, and twinkle when ever we can.

Approx. size:
4 ½ inches with Double knit and 4mm hook
6 inches with Aran/worsted and 5.5mm hook.

Our Archie square is a diamond, the diamond signifies refracting light. This translates into the soul taking a journey to achieve higher understanding to reach clarity and enlightenment. At the end of the path, the soul will sparkle and shine like a diamond.

Our Alfie square is a wheel, steering us in the right direction, reminding us that we are the captain of our own ship, and that we can sail in what ever direction we choose in life.
